Mitchell Grafton is a full-time ceramic artist in Panama City, Florida. 
At age 19, he began working Odell Pottery while getting an Architecture degree at Louisiana Tech. Bruce Odell was a three-time winner of the Pottery Olympics in Wisconsin; he was Mitchell’s mentor, as he taught him all he knows about ceramics (and life in general) for the next seven years. After graduation, Mitchell moved to “Panama City, FL where he and a business partner started Round Tree Pottery” (Art Odyssey). Mitchell continued to run and design for Round Tree Pottery for the next nine years. “At its peak, Round Tree sold wholesale pottery to over 400 art galleries and gift shops around the country and owned a retail art gallery in Seaside, FL” (Art Odyssey). In 2009, Mitchell started his own pottery company, Grafton Pottery, where he continues to work today.
Since he runs a private pottery company, his works are sold either in the shop or online (he also sells his stuff on ebay), and as such, they don’t have definitive titles. However, they are very unique and most of them share a few common themes of animals, fantasy, whimsy, a hint of steampunk elements, and a slight bit of creepiness.
